Installation of two new Claus plants / I&C assembly for conversion of the gas treatment plant

A Claus plant has been operational at Zentralkokerei Saar in Saarlouis in Saarland, Germany, since 1984/85. In order to recover almost pure sulphur, the hydrogen sulphide obtained through prior gas scrubbing is passed through a combustion and treatment process in the Claus plant.

A wide-ranging investment project at the Zentralkokerei includes the construction of two new Claus plants. The existing Claus plants will be decommissioned and disassembled once the new Claus plants are operational.

Alongside the installation of the two new Claus plants, Uhde Services is also carrying out the I&C assembly for the conversion of the gas treatment plant. The scope of services includes the assembly and delivery of the required installation and assembly material.
