Modernization of the electronics, measuring, open and closed-loop technology in the Abu Qir II fertilizer complex
The Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company in Alexandria, Egypt operates an ammonia plant in its Abu Qir II fertilizer complex.
Within the scope of an extensive program of modernization, virtually the entire measuring, control and automation technology (including Advanced Process Control) is set to be exchanged and replaced. The use of Advanced Process Control (APC) systems for ammonia plants is becoming increasingly important in the fertilizer industry on the basis of increased production volumes and savings in energy.
Uhde Services is undertaking a revamp on an existing Uhde plant here for the first time. The contract is set to run for two years and is earmarked for completion in November 2009.
